Essence of Buddhadharma, a groundbreaking 6-month training in Buddhism

Buddha Prakash Foundation is pleased to announce the beginning of the Essence of Buddhadharma, a groundbreaking training in basic Buddhism open to all interested people of Nepal. In this 6-month course, you will learn the foundations of the Buddhist path, meditation, physical and mental well-being, basic Buddhist prayers and rituals, and the meaning behind them. You will also learn social and leadership skills to carry out compassionate action in accordance with the principles of Buddhism.

Guess who the teachers are! Mingyur Rinpoche and Tsoknyi Rinpoche themselves will give classes, in addition to Khenpos trained by them, noted neuroscientists, meditation practitioners, scholars, and teachers from diverse fields from across the world.

When?

Who can attend?

Traditional Buddhist families, lamas, priests, ullas, and their household members; or
Meditation practitioners with at least 5 years of regular practice, preferably under a Buddhist teacher; or
Anyone who is genuinely interested in exploring the authentic Buddhist path and carrying out compassionate social action
Age, language, educational qualification:

At least 18 years old.
Fluency in at least one of these languages is needed: Nepali, English, Tibetan.
Those with a bachelor's degree or equivalent education from a recognized institution will receive a graduation certificate from Buddha Prakash Foundation. You can still attend the entire course as an audit student even without a bachelor's degree, in which case you will receive an audit student certificate.
Mode of training:

Blend of traditional and modern — monastic-style lectures followed by extensive group discussions, project work, and problem-solving activities.
Online or on-site?
Classes will be on-site at Buddha Prakash Foundation near Swayambhu, Nepal. Some teachers from abroad will give classes online; participants attend on-site through video conferencing.

Our graduates:
Buddhist practitioners with the willingness and skills to transfer knowledge and carry out compassionate action in their respective communities.

Costs:
The course is free, thanks to benevolent donors who wish Buddhadharma to be easily accessible to all.
As an opportunity to practice dana, you are welcome to donate any voluntary amount in offering to the teachers and to complement food and other training expenses. Daytime lunch/snacks will be provided. Students will need to manage their own accommodation and other expenses. No stipend will be provided.
